We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team in Auckland CBD (with 3 days WFH per week) in this newly created role!

What will you do?

Lead the setup and maintenance of data movement within our applications: champion the creation of data pipelines, orchestration and infrastructure.
Projects include Event Ingestion, Big Data Processing and Infrastructure Set Up.
Working towards roadmap deliverables, you'll collaborate closely with your team through pull request reviews and join forces during standups and planning sessions.
You'll have regular involvement with the platform's operational coverage to ensure availability and reliability.
Play a key role in developing other team members by mentoring & coaching junior and mid-level engineers.
Our tech stack: Python, Spark, S3, Kinesis, Terraform, Databricks, AWS & Azure.

What will you bring to the party?

You'll follow solid engineering principals and demonstrate a strong understanding of high-quality, scalable solutions.
Experience with tech used in the big data ecosystem such as Python, Spark or Databricks.
Exposure to cloud based solutions, ideally AWS (but we're open to any provider!)
Proven ability to lead projects, foster collaboration and support team members along the way.
Knowledge of building machine learning pipelines would be a plus.
